A powerful earthquake struck off the coast of Taiwan, rocking the island and shaking buildings off their foundations in the city of Hualien. Local media reported people were trapped in buildings in the lightly populated town, while video showed the quake shaking buildings in the Taiwan’s capital Taipei. Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration said the epicentre of the quake was 25km southeast of Hualien
