Cochiti Lake camping fees increasing for some sites starting April 15

SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Camping fees are set to increase at Cochiti Lake and Abiquiu Lake. Fees will increase starting April 15, 2024.

At Cochiti, campsites with running water will increase from $12 to $15 per site. Fees for other sites at Cochiti Lake will not increase, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says.

At the Riana Campground at Abiquiu Lake, tent sites will increase from $8 to $10, trailer sites will increase from $12 to $15, and sites with electrical and water hookups will increase from $16 to $20 per site.

The fee increases come after biannual fee studies, which aim to make sure recreation fees are comparable with surrounding recreation sites, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says. And recent inflation means sites have had to increase fees to help cover the cost of maintenance.
