DAILY NEWS BASEBALL TOP 10

1. Harvard-Westlake (21-4-1 overall, 13-1-1 Mission League)

The Wolverines clinched the Mission League title with a three-game series sweep against Loyola last week.

They locked up the league championship Wednesday with a 19-2 win over the Cubs. Duncan Marsten gave up five hits and struck out six hitters in five innings and at the plate he was 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

2. Oaks Christian (13-11, 8-4 Marmonte League)

The Lions lost their first game last week against Calabasas 6-1, then came back to beat the Coyotes 6-3 and 14-7 to create a tie for second place in the Marmonte League. They have an important series against Westlake this week.

Chris Tampoya was 3 for 5 with a home run, three runs and four RBIs in Friday’s win. Luke Puls was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.

3. Chaminade (17-9, 9-6 Mission League)

Chaminade is in second place in the Mission League with two games remaining against St. Francis.

The Eagles lost to Alemany twice last week and beat them once, 6-1 on Wednesday. Vinny Van der Wel was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and Nolan Lowry was 1 for 2 with an RBI in that game. Adam Batmanian pitched a full seven innings and gave up two hits and one run, recorded seven strikeouts and walked one.

4. Westlake (21-3 overall, 10-2 Marmonte League)

Westlake beat Newbury Park three times last week, with a shutout Wednesday and Friday’s game extending to 13 innings.

Pitcher Dylan Volantis moved into a tie for fifth place in career wins at Westlake with 14 after a 16-0 shutout of the Panthers. Will Kaczynski, Noah Stead and Nate Johnson each hit home runs in the game.

5. Calabasas (17-8, 8-4 Marmonte League)

Oaks Christian came out on top in last week’s Marmonte League series, winning two out of three games.

In Calabasas’  win, 6-1, Jordan Kingston picked up the win as he allowed one run and one hit in six innings while logging nine strikeouts. Nathan Castellon was 1 for 2 with a double and two runs and Matthew Witkow was 2 for 4 with two runs.

6. Hart (19-5, 8-2 Foothill League)

Hart beat West Ranch twice last week to move into first place in the Foothill League standings.

Ryan De La Maza was 3 for 4 with two RBIs in Friday’s 5-3 win over the Wildcats. Jaiden Chathle went 2 for 3 and Ryder Frithsmith went 1 for 1.

7. West Ranch (16-7-1, 7-3 Foothill League)

West Ranch and Saugus are tied for second in the Foothill League standings after the Wildcats’ two losses last week to Hart.

Nolan Stoll was 3 for 3 and Ty Diaz logged an RBI in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss. Stoll went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in Friday’s 5-3 loss and Brett Ishikawa was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

8. Notre Dame (16-8-1, 8-6-1 Mission League)

The Knights overtook Sierra Canyon in the Mission League standings and are now in third place after beating the Trailblazers in two out of three games last week.

Dominic Cadiz was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and John Trainor was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI in a 2-0 shutout. Nate Kugler went the distance and gave up four hits while walking two hitters and striking out six.

9. Sierra Canyon (16-8-2, 7-6-2 Mission League)

The Trailblazers sit in fourth place in the league standings after beating Notre Dame 3-1 on Friday.

Brayden Goldstein was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Aiden Jahng was 2 for 3. Jonny Hagopian pitched 4 2/3 innings of relief and allowed one hit, no runs and finished with two strikeouts.

10. Birmingham (14-7-1, 9-0 West Valley League)

Birmingham remains unbeaten in league play after beating Cleveland 6-3 on Wednesday and 6-0 on Friday. Two weeks remain in league play and the Patriots will face Chatsworth and second-place Granada Hills in that time.

Isaac Monterrubio gave up one hit in 4 2/3 innings of work. Ricardo Rodriguez had one hit, one RBI, one run and was walked once and Christopher Woods had three hits, one RBI and two runs.

Next five to watch: Alemany (11-14-1, 5-9-1 Mission League); Granada Hills (15-7, 8-1 West Valley League); Moorpark (13-10-1, 5-4-1 Coastal Canyon League); Saugus (14-12, 7-3 Foothill League); Simi Valley (14-9-2, 6-3-1 Coastal Canyon League).
