Driver killed after metal rod pierces windshield

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – The Carlsbad Police Crimestoppers is asking for information on the death of a vehicle driver last week.

They say at around 12:10 p.m. on April 24, there was a incident at the 5000 block of National Parks Highway. A metal welding rod hit a windshield pierced the windshield of a vehicle and critically injured the driver. Despite medical intervention, the driver died from the injuries.
