Dying for Sex Cast Adds Carrie’s Sissy Spacek to FX Miniseries

Per Deadline, FX has officially welcomed Oscar winner Sissy Spacek (Carrie) to the Dying for Sex cast for its forthcoming limited series, based on the Wondery podcast of the same name.

Spacek is set to portray the recurring role of Gail, who has a complicated history with her daughter Molly, portrayed by Emmy winner Michelle Williams (Fosse/Verdon). The veteran actress will also be joining previously announced cast members Jenny Slate, Rob Delaney, Jay Duplass, David Rasche, Kelvin Yu and Esco Jouléy.

What is Dying for Sex about?

“Dying for Sex follows the story of Molly (Williams), a woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer who leaves her husband of 15 years and begins to explore her sexuality. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend Nikki (Slate), who stays by her side all the way to the very end,” reads the logline.

The miniseries will be written and executive produced by showrunners Liz Meriwether (The Dropout) and Kim Rosenstock (Only Murders In the Building), with Leslye Headland (Acolyte) attached to direct. Executive producers are Katherine Pope, Nikki Boyer, Jen Sargent, Marshall Lewy, Aaron Hart and Hernan Lopez, with Williams producing. It is a production by 20th Television.
