Even hotter temperatures around New Mexico Tuesday

Tuesday morning is off to a mild, clear and calm start. Tuesday will be an even warmer day, with warmer than normal high temperatures, reaching the 70s, 80s and 90s. Winds will be light, and skies will be mostly sunny for most of the state.

Clouds will pop up this afternoon in the northeast highlands, east plains, central NM and the northern mountains, but any chance for rain will be limited to the high terrain, near Raton Pass, the Mesas and the Sangre de Cristo. Virga, with sprinkles and gusty winds, will be possible in the northeast highlands.

The weather will stay dry, warm and quiet on Wednesday, before the next storm starts to impact the state. Thursday will be a windy day throughout New Mexico, with spotty showers in the Four Corners.
