FEMA rep to participate in panel discussion on Hermit’s Peak-Calf Canyon fire

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Coalition for Fire Fund Fairness (CFFF) – a grassroots coalition of victims of the 2022 Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire in Northern New Mexico – is hosting a public panel discussion focused on the aftermath of the fire and delays with FEMA’s disbursement of federal relief funds to those who were impacted by the fire.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at the Indigo Theater, 146 Bridge St. in Las Vegas. The event comes just days after the two-year anniversary of the state’s largest wildfire.

Colt Hagmaier, FEMA’s assistant administrator of the recovery directorate within the Office of Response and Recovery, will participate in the panel alongside victims of the fire, Yolanda Cruz and Toby Dolan, and Lt. Governor Morales.


Mora County Hermit’s Peak-Calf Canyon FEMA office expands to help with influx of claims

The panel will be moderated by Patrick Lohmann, a reporter for Source New Mexico. The panel discussion will be preceded by an exclusive screening of the documentary “Mora is Burning,” featuring opening remarks by former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas.
