The Secretary General of the PSD, Paul Stănescu, declared on Tuesday, at the Parliament, that Gabriela Firea will be on the list of the Coalition, on a place eligible for a MEP seat.
“Gabriela Firea will be on the list for the European Parliament, in an eligible seat. Tonight, tomorrow at the latest, the joint list of the Coalition’s candidates for the European Parliament will also be clarified,” said PSD General Secretary.
Gabriela Firea, the former Bucharest general mayor, wanted to run for the Capital City Hall again, being allegedly endorsed by the Bucharest organization she leads.
The PSD and PNL leaders decided, however, that the doctor Cătălin Crîstoiu be the joint candidate for Bucharest. Cîrstoiu was presented on Tuesday to liberal and social-democratic leaders, including Gabriela Firea. The latter had a discussion with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu at the Government.
Sources from the Coalition told HotNews.ro that as president of the PSD Bucharest organization, Gabriela Firea will politically coordinate the campaign of the Coalition’s joint candidate for Bucharest mayor’s office.
