GC Aesthetics launches FixNip implant to ‘revolutionise’ breast reconstruction for women

GC Aesthetics, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of breast implants and medical devices and medical devices for the global aesthetics industry, has announced the launch of the FixNip NRI, a nipple implant for women who have undergone breast reconstruction surgery. The company claims the device will ‘revolutionise’ breast reconstruction for women.

The company says that until now, a variety of surgical techniques have been used to try and reconstruct the nipple-areola complex with none providing a long-term aesthetic solution.

In an exclusive partnership agreement with FixNip LTD, GC Aesthetics has launched FixNip NRI across the main European territories, with plans to further roll out the product in Latin America, Central Europe, and Asia. With this new product, GC Aesthetics says it will spearhead expansion and growth into the breast reconstruction segment, elevating and enhancing current standards.

GC Aesthetics says it is estimated that around 30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK undergo a mastectomy, with 21% of the patients opting to have immediate breast reconstruction.

FixNip NRI is produced from biocompatible smooth silicone with a floral-shaped nitinol frame which allows a minimal incision as its key to recover the original shape of the implant when it is folded and inserted.

The FixNip NRI is implanted with a minimally invasive procedure carried out by surgeons which takes an average of 15 minutes to insert. The outcome has demonstrated high patient satisfaction according to the company, with minimum patient downtime and an excellent safety profile.

“The NAC reconstruction procedure should be considered an integral part of breast reconstructive surgery,” says Plastic Surgeon Prof. Dr Michael Atlan. “It gives women an important psychological contribution and leads to greater wellbeing, overall sense of self and high satisfaction after being reconstructed”.

Carlos Reis Pinto, CEO at GC Aesthetics said: “We are committed to delivering safe options that establish a newer, higher, and more beneficial standard of care for women who seek total breast reconstruction. Such technology breakthroughs will complete our range of solutions dedicated to women’s aesthetic healthcare. FixNip by GC Aesthetics is a healthcare game-changer.”

Fara Naomi Macías, CMO of GCA said: “At GCA we believe a Total Breast Reconstruction is not only a choice, but a pathway for women to a full recovery after a mastectomy. We are extremely proud of adding this product to our portfolio and what it will represent for Reconstructive and Plastic Surgeons and the lives of thousands of women.”
