Gemini AI, formerly known as Bard, is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Google that works as a Generative AI model. It was announced by Google back on February 6, 2023 and was released on March 21, 2023. Later on, Google renamed and rebranded it as Gemini.
There are multimodel options under Gemini including Gemini 1.0, Gemini 1.0 Pro and Gemini 1.5. This is a statement from google regarding Gemini API:
