According to a survey carried out by INSCOP that measures the intention to vote for the presidential elections, the current deputy general secretary of NATO, Mircea Geoană, would win the first round of the presidential elections, followed by Marcel Ciolacu and George Simion.

The survey, carried out between February 14 and March 5, measures the main candidates for this year’s presidential elections, as well as the opinion of political figures. Among the top political figures are Mircea Geoană, Laura Codruța Kovesi and Emil Boc. Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciucă are also included in the top five political personalities appreciated by Romanians.

Regarding the intention to vote in the first round of the presidential elections, Mircea Geoană would obtain the best result as an independent candidate. He would enter the second round with the PSD candidate, Marcel Ciolacu.

The survey carried out by INSCOP also presents four scenarios for the second round of the presidential elections.

Regarding the parliamentary elections, PSD leads in voting intention, followed by PNL and AUR.
