FNC Entertainment announced the news in a statement on fan community platform Weverse today (April 22). The K-pop agency said that Cherry Bullet – comprising Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin and May – will “officially conclude their activities as a group as of today after much thought and discussion”.

It added that members Haeyoon, Jiwon, Remi and May have decided to terminate their contracts with the company and will part ways with thelabel. Meanwhile, remaining members Yuju, Bora and Chaerin have opted to continue “their individual careers as artists under FNC Entertainment”.

FNC Entertainment apologised to fans for the “unexpected news”. “We cherished the love and support you’ve given the members so far. Please continue supporting them as they walk a new path, although not as Cherry Bullet, as they are about to start anew,” it added.

Cherry Bullet made their debut in 2019 as a 10-member group with the single ‘Q&A’. However, three of the group’s original line-up – Kokoro, Mirae and Linlin – would leave the group and the company in December that year due to “personal reasons”.

Over the course of their five-year career, Cherry Bullet went on to put out three mini-albums and two single albums. Their most recent was ‘Cherry Dash’ in March 2023, led by title track ‘P.O.W’.

In other K-pop news, BIBI collaborated with Sony Interactive Entertainment to release a new track titled ‘Eve’ for its upcoming PlayStation 5 title Stellar Bladeslated for release this week on April 26. Watch the music video, inspired by Stellar Blade gameplay, here.
