The latest chapter of Kagurabachi shed some light on Chihiro confronting the Hishaku member who appeared at the end of the previous chapter. Kagurabachi chapter 31, which was released on Monday, April 29, 2024, provided clarity on several mysteries, like why the Shinuchi blade was sent for the auction.
In the previous chapter, Shiba and Hakuri successfully entered the Rakuzaichi vault and made their way to the Sazanami family’s graveyard. The latter came face to face with his older brother while Shiba fought three members of the Tou.

Kagurabachi chapter 31 starts with Chihiro being greeted by the mysterious Hishaku member. The man comments that he is all grown up now. However, the protagonist becomes anxious as he recalls his past, and he asks several questions to the man out of rage. The man was impressed that Chihiro could keep his composure and ask him questions despite being angry. His identity is finally revealed as the leader of the Hishaku and the person responsible for Kunishige Rokuhira’s murder.
An intense fight ensues as the man tries to find an opportunity to kill the protagonist. However, Chihiro realizes the difference in their power and steps back. The man doesn’t even use sorcery during the fight, but Chihiro is already overwhelmed. The Hishaku leader believes that Chihiro’s Cloud Gouger blade has less output than before.
Moreover, the Enchanted Blade might be losing its power because it was broken, or another reason could be the user himself. The man wonders if it was happening because Chihiro started using it. He states that Chihiro won’t be able to break through at his current level. At that point, the leader asks the protagonist to keep quiet as the auction is about to start. He also requests him to stay still since he doesn’t want anyone to mess up the event.

Kyora Sazanami comes under the spotlight as the auction takes place. He reveals the highly anticipated Shinuchi blade and goes over its historical significance. It was revealed that Japan was warring 18 years ago because of an undisclosed enemy.
Even though the sorcerers teamed up to go against the enemy, they were no match for them. That’s when Kunishige Rokuhira changed everything. He was considered a hero because he forged the six Enchanted Blades, the Shinuchi, which brought victory to Japan.
On the other hand, the protagonist remembers all his queries and asks the Hishaku leader why the Shinuchi was at the auction. Then, Chihiro suddenly asks why the leader murdered his father. The man answers that putting the Shinuchi blade for auction was a part of his plan because he wanted to wield it. Besides, the organization has been helping the Sazanami clan so often lately. Although the protagonist couldn’t understand his reasoning, he was certain about one thing: he couldn’t let such a corrupt man wield the Enchanted Blade.
