The newly released video for the sixth season of Love Island USA shows Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix as the newest host for Peacock’s reality series. This comes after Sarah Hyland announced her departure from the show after only two seasons.
The Modern Family alum first joined the show in 2022 during its fourth season, replacing Arielle Vanderberg. However, due to her current commitment to “an exciting project,” Hyland revealed that she won’t “be returning to the island this summer.”
“I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer. I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA,” the actress wrote on social media. “While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!”
It wasn’t revealed yet at the time who would replace Hyland as the show’s host, but speculations online suggest that Madix will be taking the mantle as the host for Season 6. TMZ also previously reported that Madix is set to replace Hyland.
When is Love Island USA Season 6 coming out?
Love Island USA is the American version of the British reality show, following a group of contestants living in one villa across an island as they try their luck at finding love. The reality show debuted on CBS in 2019 and has spawned following seasons, the most recent of which debuted last year.
The sixth season, which is set to premiere on Peacock on June 11, “will feature a brand-new vibrant villa including a spicy Casa Amor and an unforgettable Hideaway. Islanders will face more drama than ever before with jaw-dropping revelations, brand new couples challenges and even a few surprise guests. Along the way, viewers will be able to vote for their favorite couples via the Love Island USA app to determine which Islanders remain in the villa and who goes home heartbroken and empty-handed.”
The upcoming season will be set in Fiji.
