Police say a witness saw Lopez murder Marvin Riley as the man sat in his car at the Embudo Trailhead back on February 29. The witness told police a man, he later identified as Lopez, approached the victim and the two began to argue. That’s when Lopez pulled out a gun and shot Riley who died at the scene.

Lopez is scheduled to be back in court for a detention hearing next month.
