A standoff between SWAT officers and a man armed with a gun was underway in Harbor City on Tuesday, March 26, after a domestic violence call, authorities said.
Los Angeles police responded to a domestic violence call in the 26200 block of President Avenue in Harbor City at around 9 a.m., Detective Meghan Aguilar said.
Arriving officers found an armed man in his 50s inside the apartment.
It was unclear what the domestic-violence report was about, but a woman believed to be involved was out of the apartment and safe, Sgt. Gregory Probst said.
Officers established a perimeter and requested SWAT, which had arrived to begin negotiating with the man.
