Miguel’s Jr. is launching its take on birria, which the National Restaurant Association predicted would be a hot trend in 2024.
The Corona-based chain describes its version as a traditional Mexican beef stew.
It is featured in Birria Queso Tacos, which are made with birria meat and jack cheese melted on a corn tortilla. The price is two for $8.69, according to a news release.
A birria quesadilla is made with birria meat with melted jack cheese wrapped in a 12-inch flour tortilla and sold for $8.99.
Both items come with a cup of consommé for dipping.

There is also a Birria Plate with meat, rice, beans, corn tortillas and a regular fountain drink for $12.50.
Miguel’s Jr. has brought back two limited-time beverages to go with them, Strawberry Horchata and Strawberry Lemonade.
Customers can watch the food being made and sampled by influencers on Miguel’s Jr.’s new TikTok channel, which has amassed five videos in the last five days.
