Nearly Three Quarters of Romanians Prefer Domestic Products, Despite Higher Prices

Almost three quarters of Romanians prefer to buy Romanian products even if they are more expensive, and 62.7% are of the opinion that Romanian agricultural products are rarer in large retail chains because they prefer products from abroad, according to a survey carried out by INSCOP commissioned by News.ro.

The poll also indicates that 76.9% of Romanians are of the opinion that in crisis situations they must first help themselves and only then ask for state support.

72.2% of the respondents declare that they prefer to buy Romanian products even if they are more expensive, while 26.3% say that they prefer to buy the products with the best price, regardless of whether they are Romanian or foreign. 1.5% do not know or do not answer this question.

They say that they prefer to buy Romanian products even if they are more expensive, especially PSD-PNL and ADU (Alliance for United Right) voters, people over 45 years old, the inactive, blue-collar workers, rural residents and those who do not have an account on social networks. AUR voters, the young people under 30, the inactive potentially active, declare in a higher proportion than the rest of the population that they prefer to buy the products with the best price, regardless of whether they are Romanian or foreign.

62.7% of Romanians are of the opinion that Romanian agricultural products are rarer in large commercial networks because they prefer products from abroad. On the other hand, 33.4% believe that Romanian agricultural products are rarer in large commercial networks because local production is small. The share of non-responses is 3.9% of the total sample.

The opinion that the Romanian agricultural products are rarer in the large commercial networks because they prefer products from abroad is shared especially ADU voters, people aged between 30 and 45, those with medium education, the inactive potentially active, blue-collar or gray and rural residents.

PSD-PNL voters, people over the age of 45, the passive inactive and those who do not have an account on social networks believe to a greater extent than the rest of the population that Romanian agricultural products are rarer in the large commercial networks because the production local is small.

76.9% of Romanians are of the opinion that in crisis situations they must first help themselves and only then ask for state support. 21.5% believe that in crisis situations they must first ask for state support and only then help themselves. The share of non-responses is 1.6% of the total sample.
