New indigenous language grant program

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area is trying to preserve language through the new indigenous language grant.


Texas-based oil company to pay New Mexico $24.5 million over pollution allegations

The grant is available to Santa Fe, Taos and Rio Arriba counties. Nonprofits, local government, indigenous communities and other eligible organizations of those counties are invited to propose projects that preserve, revitalize or promote indigenous languages. Those that are picked have the opportunity to receive grants of up to $43,000. Proposals are evaluated based on feasibility, innovation, alignment with objectives and potential impact.
