New Mexicans learn about space-related jobs at Q Station

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local event gave New Mexicans a chance to learn about space and what their role could be in space-related fields. According to NASA, this week is National Space Week and it was created to encourage kids and adults to find joy in STEM and space.


State organizations work together to save endangered plant

Multiple agencies came together to show what kinds of careers are available in New Mexico’s space-related fields. The event was held at the Q Station which is a technology hub by the Air Force Research Laboratory to engage with the community. “A lot of different institutions and organizations are doing work in the space community, in the space sector, are here to show off all the different ways anybody can find their place in space,” said Director Gabe Mounce.

There are more than 100 space-related companies in New Mexico. Experts say the space industry is rapidly growing.
