Over 3,000 primary school students learn about energy, within the educational project of DEER “Different School with Little Energetician”

Distributie Energie Electrică Romania (DEER), the largest national distributor of electricity, organizes, between April 22-26, the educational project “Different School with Little Energetician”, a project that is part of the educational campaign of DEER “Little Energetician”, launched in 2023, on the occasion of International Children’s Day.

Between April 22-26, over 3000 students from primary education classes, from the 18 counties where DEER operates, but not exclusively, participate in interactive presentations about energy. During the meetings, which take place at the DEER premises, or in classes, students learn about energy, how it is produced, how it reaches our homes, about green energy, how to manage energy consumption efficiently, what responsible behavior means of the environment, but also about safety measures around electrical installations.

“Education is the most powerful weapon with which we can change the world”, is Nelson Mandela’s motto, which is the basis of DEER’s educational campaign “Little Energetician”, which has become part of the company’s identity. We strongly believe that all the information we give these children, from an early age, lays the foundations for responsible behavior towards the environment, children understand what electricity is and how important it is for our everyday comfort. We also hope that through our workshops and the hands-on activities we do with these children, we can inspire them to choose a career in the energy field, and at least some of them will choose a career in energy and become specialists of the energy future. I would like, in this way, to thank all the colleagues in the branches for their involvement, for their creativity, for the passion and joy with which they embraced this project and shared the information about energy with the children, and we thank the children and the teaching staff for the positive energy they gave us – they sent it”, said Mihaela Rodica SUCIU, Director General of DEER.
