Park Ridge police: 71-year-old arrested for property damage

The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Theft over $500

An unknown offender took a Rolex watch from a resident’s home during a house party on the 500 block of South Clifton Avenue sometime between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on March 31.

Theft $500 and under

An Advocate Lutheran General Hospital employee placed their backpack near their desk on March 29 around 7:30 a.m., according to Park Ridge police. At 12:30 p.m., the victim got an alert on their phone that an unknown offender had used their banking card at various locations.

Criminal damage to motor vehicle

Surveillance footage revealed that an unknown offender damaged the driver’s side window of a 2017 Audi S7 on March 30 at approximately 4 a.m. on the 900 block of South Crescent Avenue. Police said the offender entered the vehicle but took no personal property before fleeing the scene.

An unknown offender smashed the windshield and passenger front window of a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe while it was parked on the street in front of the owner’s home on the first block of North Dee Road sometime between 6 p.m. on April 2 and 6 p.m. on April 3.

Burglary from a motor vehicle

An unknown offender took cash from a 2019 Subaru Accent while it was parked on the street between 10 p.m. on March 31 and 8:01 a.m. on April 1 in the 100 block of South Home Avenue. Police said the vehicle was locked, and the offender used an unknown method of entry.

An unknown offender entered an unlocked 2014 Jeep Wrangler and stole personal property from the glove box while the vehicle was parked on the 500 block of North Hamlin sometime between 9 p.m. on March 21 and 5 p.m. on April 1.

Criminal damage to property

A 71-year-old Chicago man was arrested for criminal damage to property at 200 South Vine Avenue on April 4 at 10 a.m.

Criminal trespass to property

A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested for criminal trespass to property and issued a warrant at 1900 South Cumberland Avenue on April 6 at 3:46 p.m.

DUI

A 30-year-old Niles man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 2632 West Dempster Street on April 7 at 1:45 a.m.

Revoked/Suspended/No Driver’s License

A 40-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving on a revoked license and expired registration at the intersection of Dempster Street and Potter Road on April 4 at 6:32 a.m.

A 35-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and using a communications device at 1032 North Northwest Highway on April 4 at 6:24 p.m.

A 22-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested for driving without a driver’s license at the intersection of River Road and Touhy Avenue on April 5 at 7:25 a.m. Police said the driver did not have a front license plate.

Speeding

A 16-year-old Glenview teenager was arrested for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Park Lane on April 4 at 7:58 p.m.
