Actor Park Sung-Hoon has come under the spotlight for his outstanding performance as the villainous character Yoon Eun-Sung in the hit K-drama Queen of Tears. The actor has recently sat for an interview with iMBC Entertainment, where he opened up about wanting to play “a good role” after the conclusion of Queen of Tears.
He has further explained that he also wants to work in comedies. In the interview, Park Sung-Hoon talked about whether his portrayal of villainous roles will impact his public image or not as well.
Queen of Tears actor Park Sung-Hoon hopes to play a ‘good role’
As mentioned above, in a recent interview with iMBC Entertainment, Queen of Tears’ actor Park Sung-Hoon has expressed his desire to portray “a good role” now. He says, “I’m receiving a lot of offers for villain roles. Right now, I really want to play a good role. I’m also greedy for comedies.” He further explains his interest in playing iconic roles like Joker from Dark Knight.
During the interview, he was asked whether his portrayal of villainous characters would negatively affect his public image or not. In response, he said, “Times have changed. In the past, there were many people who mistakenly thought that playing a villain was an actor’s personality, but these days, people separate them. Rather than being unfair, I try to think that people praise me for my good acting.”
The actor also explained that he tried to show his actual self in front of the public so that it would help them separate him from his vicious characters. Park Sung-Hoon says, “That’s why I try to show my usual self often when I film my own content or go on entertainment shows.”
The Queen of Tears actor further talked about his practice of impactfully emoting emotions. He said, “I have practiced a lot of acting while standing on stage in Daehakro. I have practiced exploding my emotions and filling the space with my voice.”
Park Sung-Hoon is all set to play a significant role in the upcoming season 2 of the globally popular Korean survival thriller series Squid Game. It will be quite intriguing to see how his role in the series will turn out.
