In a recent exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Kurt Johnstad, co-writer for the Rebel Moon franchise revealed that a treatment for the third and fourth movies had been made. Johnstad also revealed that he, Zack Snyder, and Shay Hatten have set up all the work for the third movie and just need to start writing and get the green light from Netflix to produce the third movie.
Given that Netflix has reportedly yet to greenlight Rebel Moon Part 3 and the writing is reportedly yet to begin, the 2027 release timeframe for Rebel Moon Part 3 is all the more likely. This is because writing, development, production, and post-production combined would take at least a year or two if and when the film has been greenlit, which will likely be this year itself after Netflix has analyzed the response towards and viewership of Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver.
Moreover, Zack Snyder’s films have also generally been released within a span of two to three years, if one looks at his filmography. This also makes the 2027 release timeframe all the more likely.
It seems fans will likely play a role in deciding Rebel Moon Part 3’s fate, according to Zack Snyder himself who humorously indicated in a recent Collider interview that fans giving Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver a double thumbs up rating would likely convince Netflix to greenlight Rebel Moon Part 3.

Since the film is not out or in production yet as of writing, the cast remains unknown. However, the film would likely bring back Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Michiel Huisman, and Doona Bae if they survive the events of the first two movies.
