Regurgitator Team Up With Pseudo Echo’s Brian Canham In 80s-Inspired Music Video

Regurgitator Team Up With Pseudo Echo’s Brian Canham In 80s-Inspired Music Video

Regurgitator have shared the 80s-inspired music video for their latest single, Cocaine Runaway, ahead of the release of their new album, Invader. What better way to channel the 80s than featuring one of Australia’s most recognisable frontmen of the era, Pseudo Echo’s Brian Canham?

The song itself makes use of synths and a mostly intentional deadpan vocal performance from Quan Yeomans, but the real treat comes in the nostalgic, 80s-fuelled noir music video. Canham stars as the video’s “night driver” in addition to composing the delightful outro.

In a statement, Canham said about his collaboration with Regurgitator, “It was such a pleasure working with one of my electro peers (and now good friend) Quan on Regurgitator’s Cocaine Runaway video, and to discover we have such similar musical and visual aesthetic taste. I was honoured to be asked not only to act in the video clip but also to compose the ‘end score’… I just love the song, too.”

Social State Entertainment co-founder James Power added, “Brian Canham, white powdered drum pads, 80’s synth and sax plus added pseudo echo soundtracked film noir additions – it’s a 10 out of 10 review from me.”

You can watch the music video for Cocaine Runaway below.

Cocaine Runaway is the latest taste of Regurgitator’s upcoming album, Invader, due for release on Friday, 26 April, via ABC Music / Valve Records. The band started the album campaign with This Is Not A Pop Song featuring Peaches—an instant classic.

Regurgitator will release their latest album ahead of their upcoming It’s So Invasive national tour this May and June. They’ll be joined by special guests: Party Dozen, The Subculture Clique, Displeasure, Monster Zoku Onsomb, and Cry Club.
