ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman from Albuquerque used her wits to win big at Jeopardy!. Weckiai Rannila put her knowledge to the test on Wednesday night’s edition of the game show. Rannila, a modular engineer at Intel, was one of three contestants who appeared on the episode.

Red, White, and Balloons event in Albuquerque is back after a five-year hiatus

Her family, friends, co-workers, and Jeopardy! fans gathered at Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor in southeast Albuquerque to watch her big win. Rannila said she’s watched Jeopardy her whole life and even auditioned for the teen edition at one point.

“Jeopardy! has been one of my lifelong dreams on the show, when they did my contestant interview I mentioned Alex Trebek was one of my first words. My family watched Jeopardy! together every night, and I just had a little bit of a whim to try out!” said Rannila.

Rannila’s win means the previous champion Amy Hummel’s five-day winning streak has come to an end. Rannila’s next appearance will be on Thursday night at 6 p.m. on KRQE.
