Alsip

ILLEGAL VIDEO:  David J. Wilson, 30, 5400 block of 127th Street, Alsip, was charged with two counts of unauthorized video recording and served with an order of protection on March 28 after being accused of photographing a sleeping acquaintance on March 27, police said.

Beecher

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Justin Melia, 26, 11700 block of Hidden Brook Court, Orland Park, was charged with residential burglary, burglary, theft, criminally damaging property, resisting arrest and trespass in connection with the March 29 break-in at a home in the 200 block of W. Church Road, according to police and court records online.

Bridgeview

BATTERY: Malek S. A. Elayan, 40, Hickory Hills, and Fawzi M. Ghunaim, 34, Crown Point, Indiana, were arrested and accused of battery March 30 in a restaurant parking lot in the 7200 block of 87th Street after being accused of punching a former friend, knocking him down and kicking him, police said.

Burbank

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Mahmoud B. Hamid, 19, 6500 block of 85th Street, Burbank, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon April 3 in that block after being accused of pointing a 9 mm handgun at an unwanted visitor in that block, police said.

Evergreen Park

PUBLIC INDECENCY: Rashad W. Rainey, 29, Chicago, was arrested and accused of public indecency April 1 after urinating on the side of the police station, police said.

Mokena

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Paul R. Osipoff, 43, 10300 block of Lindsay Lane, Mokena, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and two counts of resisting arrest after becoming combative with officers during a March 27 domestic-battery investigation in that block, police said.

Monee

FIREWORKS REMOVED: Local law enforcement officers tapped the DuPage County bomb squad Sunday to remove and dispose of 56 3-inch firework display mortars left behind by a recently deceased resident of the 25800 block of Egyptian Trail Road.

Oak Lawn

MARIJUANA SALES: Kendall M. Walker, 37, undisclosed block of Kedvale Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of calculated criminal drug conspiracy and manufacture/delivery of 30 to 500 grams of cannabis during a March 31 traffic stop at 111th Street and Cicero Avenue after officers recovered 182 grams of marijuana in 29 3.5 gram packages, $2,100 in $20 bills and $603 in other currency, police said.

HATE CRIME: Signs and a flag were reported vandalized and tagged with anti-LGBTQ+ graffiti at a residence in an undisclosed block of Kilpatrick Avenue March 22 and March 30. A neighbor reported seeing two male preteens touching the displays.

BURGLARY: Tony D. Jackson III, 20, undisclosed block of Keating Avenue, Oak Lawn, was charged March 31 with burglary after he was spotted in the 9700 block of Kilpatrick Avenue wearing a mask and gloves while sitting in the driver’s seat of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra sedan with a “peeled” steering column, police said. Jackson, who had a USB-A cable and a screwdriver, was also charged with possessing burglary tools, police said.

BATTERY: Two employees at Jewel-Osco, 8801 Ridgeland Ave., who attempted to stop four males from leaving with shopping bags full of stolen liquor and other merchandise pepper were pepper sprayed in the face and neck March 30, police said. The males jumped over a row of shopping carts to avoid cash registers, police said.

Orland Park

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Chicago man who punched an employee in the face March 27 in the Jewel-Osco parking lot, 9350 159th St., has been charged with aggravated battery, police said. James M. Shy, 35, Chicago, was additionally charged with resisting arrest and criminally damaging property after throwing away stolen liquor selling for $125.45 while running from responding officers, police said.

THEFT: Joseph C. Peca, 27, 8000 block of Sawgrass Court, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of shoplifting after stealing five cases of oxtails collectively selling for $295.47, police said. Peca also took five cases of beer and a case of energy drinks, police said.

CARJACKING ARREST: The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office has charged Shawn Flores, 44, Midlothian, with aggravated vehicular hijacking and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in connection with the April 3 evening theft of a vehicle at gunpoint in the 15100 block of Orlan Brook Drive. Midlothian police aided in the recovery of the vehicle and Flores’s arrest Friday after a brief foot chase, police said.

Park Forest

SEX ASSAULT: Demar D. Burch, 48, first block of Arbor Trail, Park Forest, is charged with two counts of predatory sexual assault of a child younger than 13 and one count of criminal sexual assault of a family member in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in that block, according to police and Will County court records online. Burch was booked March 26 into the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he remains at least until an April 10 preliminary hearing, according to sheriff’s records online.

Steger

DUI CRASH: Keith Sowell, 36, 200 block of Indianwood Boulevard, Park Forest, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit March 30 after he drove into a 7-Eleven, 3401 Chicago Road, causing minor injuries to him and his passenger, police said.

DUI CRASH: Carlos M. Aguilar, 35, Crete, was charged with drunken driving, driving without a valid license, resisting arrest and failing to give information and render aid March 31 after fleeing a crash at Kings and Richton roads that sent his two passengers to the hospital and then hitting an ambulance before exiting his vehicle with a beer in his hand when stopped in the 23500 block of Acorn Drive in Crete, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Rodney L. Johnson, 38, first block of west 31st Street, was charged with aggravated domestic battery after slamming a woman’s head against a car in that block on April 4, police said. The woman was transported to Franciscan Medical Center in Olympia Fields, where her conditioned worsened before being transferred in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.
