The latest episode of The Impossible Heir picked up from when Han Tae-Oh stopped Kang In-Ha from killing his father, Kang Joong-Mo. The two began to argue when In-Ha warned Tae-Oh to get out of his way. However, Tae-Oh challenged In-Ha to stop him.

Back at the prison, In-Ha spoke to his imprisoned friend, Mo Gi-Jun. He apologized for not being able to see him in person. Gi-Jun expressed his desire to take the fall for In-Ha but confessed to being scared. After the call, the prison guard stabbed and killed Gi-Jun by following In-Ha’s orders. Meanwhile, Tae-Oh used his paper investment company, Gold H Investment, to lure in both Kang Seung-Ju and Kang In-Ha.

Kang Hee-Joo asked the late Kang In-Ju’s wife to transfer all her shares to Kang Seung-Ju. While the latter decided to secure Gold H Investment, Kang In-Ha received a threat from Park Sajin to end their collaboration. Later, Tae-Oh called Seung-Ju, Jang Geum-Suk, and In-Ha into the same room and revealed himself as the co-CEO of Gold H Investment.

After their meeting, Tae-Oh promised to steal In-Ha’s dream. When Geum-Suk invited In-Ha for a family dinner, the latter discovered Tae-Oh collaborated with the mother-son duo. At night, In-Ha recalled how Tae-Oh’s father was in prison for attempting to kill his wife, Seo Ji-Suk. In-Ha arranged a temporary release for Tae-Oh’s father, giving the latter information about Ji-Suk. When she met her husband, she fell off the stairs while trying to escape, injuring herself severely. She died soon after.

Meanwhile, Seung-Ju arranged for a press conference. Before he and his mother, Geum-Suk, could leave the house, police arrested Geum-Suk on account of disposing of a corpse, bribery, and embezzlement. In-Ha set them up successfully. When Seung-Ju was at the police station, In-Ha used the press conference to appoint himself as acting chairman. On the other hand, Tae-Oh found out about his father’s release.

It was too late as Tae-Oh could only see his mother dead and mourned her loss. In-Ha tried to get Hee-Jo on his side, but she refused. She failed to recognize her step-brother anymore. Meanwhile, Chae Dong-Uk and Congressman Jo Sun-Dong decided to side with In-Ha instead of Seung-Ju. Later, Seung-Ju punched In-Ha for setting him up and having his mother go to prison.

Seung-Ju then attended Tae-Oh’s mother’s funeral, expressing his condolences. Moreover, he offered to collaborate with Tae-Oh because In-Ha caused them problems. By the end of the episode, In-Ha envisioned himself as the chairman. He was about to enter the meeting to form an emergency management committee when he met prosecutor Ha Myung-Jin. The latter arrested In-Ha on account of murdering In-Ju and Mi-Jun.

At the end of the episode, In-Ha discovered it was all Tae-Oh’s game plan. Previously, Tae-Oh revealed he had evidence against In-Ha, but the latter deemed it as nonsense. However, In-Ha realized that Tae-Oh was being serious as he was taken away to prison.
