The PSD-PNL list for the EP elections submitted to the Central Electoral Bureau

PSD and PNL leaders – Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciucă – submitted the list for the European Parliament on Friday. Before going to the BEC headquarters, they stopped at the alliance’s new headquarters, the building that 10 years ago was the USL headquarters.

The two parties that decided to go together to the elections on June 9 put Mihai Tudose and Rareș Bogdan at the top of the list.

“We have formalized the submission of the list of the PNL PSD Electoral Alliance. It is a list that includes some of the MEPs who have experience and who have worked in the Parliament of the European Union. There are also new people. Basically, it is a team that we have assumed it together, so that we can carry out our commitment to continue with the same responsibility to ensure the stability of the government and the development of Romania”, stated Ciucă, in a joint statement with the president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, at the exit from the BEC.

He added that this team has the mission to do what it can to continue the development process of Romania with European funds. “This team has the mission to go to Brussels not for a party, not for the National Liberal Party, not for the Social Democratic Party, it has the mission to Brussels for Romania, for the citizens of Romania, to do what they can so that we continue this development process with European funds, as it has been done in the last 17 years and we can all see this, money with which we will continue to develop local communities, to be able to build road infrastructure, railway infrastructure, to be able to improve the two objectives that each of the parties and all the political parties promised to have on the list of priorities, namely the field of education and the field of health. I have great confidence in this approach and I am convinced that the citizens of Romania also see in this common list a commitment of the two parties for Romania,” claimed Nicolae Ciucă.

“From this moment it is official. So far, we have gone from news based on sources, to breaking news, at this moment it is official: the two parties have formed an electoral alliance. We made an electoral alliance just as we built and a governing coalition. We didn’t do it for the Social Democratic Party, we didn’t do it for the National Liberal Party either. Together we managed to overcome all the internal discussions and to show within the parties as well, but above all to show the Romanians that we have the political maturity to make a decision, not for us, a decision for stability, a decision for development at a time when Romania cannot afford to lose any investment, any European money and any coherence, when we talk about accession integral to the Schengen and terrestrial space, when we talk about the elimination of visas for the United States and, last but not least, when we talk about joining the OECD“, also stated Marcel Ciolacu, in the joint press conference with the president of the PNL.
