The Rock hinted at becoming a board member of TKO to former WWE superstar Jinder Mahal. The Rock and Jinder Mahal were confronted on WWE RAW’s Day One edition. Both Mahal and The Rock got physical, with The Great One delivering a People’s Elbow.
A few weeks after the segment, it was announced that The Rock was a member of the TKO board. Jinder Mahal, who recently appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, shared the details of how his segment with The Rock was put together. Mahal also revealed in a voice note that The Great One gave him a hint about being on the board. Mahal didn’t understand the message at that time.
He stated, “He actually kind of left a bit of an easter egg. He sent me a voice note, like, ‘Thank you, appreciate working with you, I’ll be seeing a lot more of you around now that I’m doing things all across the board with WWE’. All across the board. It didn’t click in. After a few days later, then it did, I was like, ‘That’s what he meant by doing things all across the board’.”
The Rock becoming a board member of TKO was great news for him. Unfortunately, WWE recently released Jinder Mahal.
Massive update from The Rock after WrestleMania 40
The Rock recently shared an update on his status following WWE WrestleMania 40. After confronting the new WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, The Great One revealed his plans for a WWE hiatus.
In a video posted on Instagram, he stated that WrestleMania is behind him as he prepares to start a new training camp for his upcoming movie, The Smashing Machine. He shared that he will be training in the Octagon for the movie’s preparation.
The movie “The Smashing Machine” features The Rock as Mark Kerr, a formidable figure in the MMA world and a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion. The film draws inspiration from the gripping 2002 HBO documentary of the same title.
With The Rock taking a hiatus from WWE and preparing for his next movie, it will be interesting to see when he returns to WWE following his confrontation with Cody Rhodes on RAW after WrestleMania 40.
