Continental announces the appointment of Șerban Nicolescu to the position of director of the tire factory in Timișoara. He succeeds Matthieu Turlure, who held this position for two years and is continuing his work elsewhere, also within the company.
Șerban Nicolescu has been part of the Continental team since 2011 and brings with him extensive experience in the field of production, he previously held roles such as area manager in the Continental tire factory in Sarreguemines (France), production manager Continental Tires Timisoara and Head of Focus Factory User Experience at Continental’s automotive megafactory in Timișoara. During his varied career, he developed leadership skills leading large teams and deepened the quality standards of the automotive industry.
“I am very happy to take up the position of director of the tire factory in Timișoara, within an involved and devoted team, with colleagues who share the company’s values, such as trust, a winner’s mentality, freedom of action and solidarity. I am confident that we will continue to produce and deliver top quality tires to our customers. With commitment and passion, positive results will always appear. The production unit in Timișoara is one of the group’s largest tire factories in Europe, and one of the biggest economic contributors in the region.

Between 1999 and 2023, Continental invested over 2.3 billion euros in its activities in Romania. All three fields of activity of the company are represented in Romania. Continental owns five production units and four engineering centers in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei and Iasi. The company has a tire distribution center in Bucharest. At the end of 2023, Continental had over 20,300 employees.
