O situație mai rar întâlnită în care bancnotele uzate și deteriorate au ajuns la Banca Națională a fost explicată chiar pe contul de Instagram al BNR, după ce un român a dus trei teancuri de bancnote topite și a cerut schimbarea lor.
„Știți deja că înlocuim la ghișeele sucursalelor noastre bancnotele uzate sau deteriorate, dar v-ați întrebat până acum ce se întâmplă cu cele arse?
Zilele trecute, am primit solicitarea de a înlocui chiar un teanc de bancnote arse. În acest caz specific, operațiunea de preschimbare a putut fi realizată, întrucât bancnotele îndeplineau criteriile pe care vi le-am detaliat într-un videoclip anterior, mai exact: prezentau elementele de identificare (seria și numărul); chiar dacă erau arse, nu le lipsea mai mult de 40% din suprafață”, au scris reprezentanții BNR în postare.
