UNM business students place in top 5 during sales competition

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Several University of New Mexico (UNM) Anderson School of Business students have received high honors in a sales competition. Three students placed second, fourth, and fifth overall.

Eddie Acosta, Andrew Salazar and AJ Dille beat hundreds of other students in the “RNMKRS” sales competition. The competition helps up-and-coming salespeople work on their skills using online simulations.

“I attribute my success to active preparation and refining my skills each time I completed a simulation,” Acosta said in a press release. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase my abilities. Special thank you to professors Dimitri and Wyatt for their ongoing support and their ability to successfully teach the concepts needed to succeed in sales.”

Acosta scored 9,589 out of a possible 10,000-point perfect score. Salazar scored 9,571 and Dille scored 9,542.


Online college classes have increased in New Mexico, report shows

“Last semester six Anderson sales students placed in the top 10. This semester, we have three students in the top five. Our continued excellent performance in this competition speaks to the depth of the sales talent we are nurturing at Anderson,” Director of the UNM Sales and Business Development Center Dimitri Kapelianis said in a press release. “I am incredibly proud of Eddie, Andrew and AJ as exemplars of the excellence of Anderson’s sales program.”
