UNM’s midwifery program ranks high in U.S. News and World Report list

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico’s Nursing-Midwifery Program is being recognized once again as a leader in healthcare education. The Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery Program ranked 11th in the nation by U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools.”


University of New Mexico launches AI-focused event series

UNM is tied with East Carolina University for number 11 in the nation. Other notable schools in the top ten include Vanderbilt University at number one, the University of Colorado at three, and Georgetown at number eight.

According to a UNM Health Sciences press release, the college also received an impactful and generous donation from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico of $1.6 million, $500,000 of which has been used to start the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Endowed Nursing Professorship. This will expand work related to midwifery, perinatal, maternal/child, and women’s health.
