Logan Paul and KSI, former rivals and now business partners, established their energy drink brand named Prime, which has been making waves since entering the market. Recently, the popular brand faced a lawsuit controversy. Paul had already expressed his take and debunked unnecessary claims. What happened to Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime energy drink?
Prime Hydration is an energy drink brand, established in 2020 by popular YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI. Ever since its launch, the drink has created a massive demand in the market. All thanks to the genius marketing techniques of the brand’s owners. The brand has an extensive range of drinks in different flavors to offer which includes Meta Moon and Lemonade. Additionally, the brand has also made sponsorship ties with UFC and FC Barcelona.
Since its rise to fame, many people, including authorities like the FDA, have raised concerns about the consumption of the brand’s energy drink and its potential harm to children’s health. Previously, a plaintiff named Elizabeth Castillo filed a lawsuit against Logan Paul’s brand. She claimed the drink had chemicals and that Paul was promoting it falsely as a healthy drink. Further, she conducted a study, especially on its grape-flavored drink. She found out that it has thrice the PFOs that one can consume in a lifetime.
What is the Prime lawsuit about?
The lawsuit has again gained attention recently. Thomas E. Bosworth, known as @tommythelawyer on TikTok, explained this class action lawsuit against the popular energy drink brand. The lawsuit stated that Prime Hydration drink consists of “forever chemicals” like PFOA and PFOS, which can put children’s health at risk.
Paul refuted the claims made against the brand in his own video on TikTok. In his video, Paul said: “First off, anyone can sue anyone at any time that does not make the lawsuit true. And in this case, it is not… one person conducted a random study and has provided zero evidence to substantiate any of their claims.”
Additionally, he explained how Prime Hydration bottles are made by top bottle manufacturers, who also make bottles for Pepsi and Coke. He also added that their brands comply with Title 21 of the Code of Regulations for PET and U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Apart from this, he also debunked the disputed the forever chemicals allegations, stating that they used two tactics out of three recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency to clear the state’s water before even making Prime.
