Following this intense controversy, Barr had already apologized publicly for making a racist comment. In one of the interviews with Fox, she said, “It cost me Everything. I wish I worded it better.” She also clarified that she was not being racist, but was simply pointing out Middle Eastern policy (via PBS News Hour). Despite her apologies and controversial opinions, she hasn’t come back to The Connors show.

Season 10 sees the unfortunate death of the title character, Roseanne, whose cause of death was initially revealed to be a heart attack. However, the real reason was an opioid overdose. With her journey coming to a clear end in the show, her return seems impossible.
Although Roseanne Barr apologized publicly for her inappropriate words, her chances of returning to the show are slim. Undoing her character’s death would be highly unusual and undermine the emotional impact of her death. The stories and characters have moved on, so making her return from the grave seems to be a bad idea.
