Albuquerque restaurant using robots to improve food safety

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A popular restaurant chain is finding new ways to ensure food safety with robots. “Build with Robots” launched its first food service partnership with Dion’s.

Build With Robots is an Albuquerque based company known for their disinfecting robot technology. The robots can be found in schools and airports. Now they are venturing into the food service industry working with Dion’s on keeping their food preparation facility safe.

Chris Ziomek, CEO of Build With Robots, says the robot ‘Breezy Blue’ is a fully autonomous disinfection robot that uses aerosolized hydrogen peroxide. Dion’s Supply Chain Director Brian Magee says they will be using the robot numerous times a week throughout the commissary. “We know that everything that everything that is being done through the peroxide sanitation is giving us a safe surface to work on to provide great food,” Magee said.

Magee says by having this technology it allows them to provide the best environment for their employees. Build with Robots says this first partnership is only the beginning and their goal is to work with other restaurants throughout Albuquerque.
