Albuquerque teen found guilty of murder sentenced to 38 years in prison

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque teen who shot and killed another teen after trying to set up a fight at a nearby park was sentenced to nearly four decades behind bars. Back in February 2022, then 15-year-old Michael Salinas texted another teen that he wanted to fight him at Westgate Community Park.

That teen got three friends to go to the park with him including Vincent Le. When the group arrived, Salinas opened fire on their car killing Le and injuring the three other teens. Salinas was found guilty of first-degree murder and three counts of shooting at a motor vehicle last year.

On Wednesday, Judge Brett Loveless sentenced him to 38 years behind bars followed by five years of supervised probation.
