HBO plans to re-examine the deadly bomb explosion that happened in Oklahoma City in 1995. The documentary, titled An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th, primarily focuses on the blast that took place on April 19, 1995. The documentary will also feature interviews with several people who reported, investigated, and survived the deadly attack. The documentary is available to stream on HBO Max.

On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh parked his vehicle outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. According to the FBI, the car had a powerful explosive. The culprit got out of the vehicle and ran towards another car that was being used to get him away from the scene. A few moments later, the bomb exploded and killed 168 people, including 19 children. Subsequently, the bomb destroyed one-third of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

Authorities soon initiated an investigation. Per the FBI, the officers helped rescue people and searched for clues. They finally had a breakthrough when the investigators found the “rear axle” of McVeigh’s vehicle. The axle helped the authorities identify the person who rented the vehicle from a shop. Subsequently, police officers went to the shop and questioned the employees. They finally got the perpetrator’s identity and showed his sketch to many people around the town.

FBI noted that people identified the person in the picture as Tim McVeigh. Authorities arrested him and put him on trial. The trial ended with a guilty verdict, and the court gave him a death sentence, reported The Washington Post.

When will An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th be released?
