Authorities help woman during Tomé Hill Pilgrimage

VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Friday was a busy day for the Valencia County Fire Department. They responded to multiple calls during the Tomé Hill Pilgrimage where hundreds of people were walking on Good Friday.

According to the department, one response was for a female at the top of hill. They believe she was unconscious due to heat exhaustion. It took crews more than 30 minutes to get the victim down the hill where she was transported to the hospital.

There is no word on how she is doing. Officials said a total of eight patients were assessed throughout the day.
