Miranda Gomez is packing a punch near the bottom of the order with a .471 average and playing excellent defense in center field.

Kieley Tomas is doing it all for the Mustangs, pitching at a high level and hitting .571.

3. Warren 6-2 (3)

Lily Barrera provides some sunshine following a few rainouts last week, recording three hits and two steals in two games.

4. Wauconda 6-4 (4)

Freshman catcher Madison May has been outstanding behind the plate and is batting .464 with seven RBIs.

Emily Psyhogios has been an anchor at third base and is learning a new role as a pitcher.

Emma Andrews and Kate Davies hit home runs and the Rams’ defense plays well in their stunning 5-3 victory against Antioch, ranked No. 9 in the country.

Aubrey Jepson is doing a solid job in the circle and is hitting .704 with a home run.

8. Vernon Hills 4-5-1 (NR)

Freshman third baseman/catcher Annie Zbylut is playing well in the field and is hitting .429 over her past five games.

9. Lake Zurich 2-3 (NR)

Freshman pitcher Alaina Krzeminski is providing valuable innings in relief to help solidify the Bears’ staff.

10. Zion-Benton 3-1 (10)

The Zee-Bees’ win against Lake Forest gives them momentum going into their game at rival Waukegan.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Senior pitcher Aly Krogman, a Loras commit, sparks Carmel by striking out 10 over 12 1/3 innings and hitting .444 in the past four games.
