A pacific cold front will arrive late tonight into Saturday, bringing light mountain snow to the western and northern mountains. There may be some spotty low elevation rain, but the biggest impacts from this storm system will be the gusty winds sticking around overnight and into Saturday and a 15-25° temperature drop into Saturday afternoon. High Wind Watches across eastern New Mexico will likely be upgraded to High Wind Warnings this afternoon with gusts likely 65-70+ mph.

Much calmer and and milder conditions will arrive Sunday, the better day this weekend to get out and about. It will remain slightly below average into Monday with quieter conditions sticking around early Monday before another storm arrives into Tuesday. Tuesday’s storm will bring more widespread, heavy precipitation chances with more snow for the Northern Mountains and rain/storms across central and eastern New Mexico. There may be some lingering precipitation Wednesday before a warming and drying trend continue into next weekend.
