ING Bank Romania has financed Medisprof Group, which owns the largest private oncology hospital in western Romania, to expand its presence in the region of Moldova. With a floor area of 1,200 sqm and 20 bed chairs for 24-hour hospitalization, the new oncology centre in Piatra Neamt will serve patients from the entire north-eastern region of the country.

ING has provided funds in total value of €3.5 million to Medisprof Group, business with Romanian capital, for its development plans and the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment. ING has granted an €800,000 loan with a 7-year maturity to the diagnosis and treatment oncology centre in Piatra Neamt, and part of the equipment has been purchased as part of an European project.

“Established in 2003, Medisprof Group has become the market leader in medical oncology services in the north-western region of the country. The relationship between ING and Medisprof Group dates back 17 years and we are pleased that we have been able to contribute to the expansion of their geographical presence by opening the largest oncology hospital in Moldova in Piatra Neamt, which will offer treatments at the highest international medical standards.

Through our partnership with Medisprof Group and the funding provided, we are thrilled to support medical progress and the development of healthcare services in Romania,” said Alexandrina Băluță, Medium Companies Strategy Manager in the Business Banking Division, ING Bank Romania.

The oncology centre in Piatra Neamt will provide patients from the north-eastern region of the country with imaging services, chemotherapy, clinical trials, functional explorations (bronchoscopy), multidisciplinary committees (Tumor Board) for the analysis of difficult cases together with the team in Cluj, genetic testing, as well as psychological and nutritional counseling.

“The opening of the second Medisprof Cancer Center in Moldova is a testament of our willingness to support patients with limited access to oncology services in that part of the country. The American QOPI certification received from ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) is our guarantee of high standard services. The opening of the hospital was followed by an Open Day, where the general public could benefit from guided, informative tours. There were hundreds of people present, including many patients ready to start or continue their oncology treatments in our center, said dr. Carolina Udrea, Founder and Managing Director, Medisprof.
