There are high wind warnings and wind advisories in effect until 3 p.m. for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, northeast highlands, including Las Vegas, and the central highlands and east plains, including Clines Corners to Santa Rosa.

Winds will die down throughout the afternoon. The rest of the state will see much lighter winds today, with northwesterly breezes up to around 30 mph. Skies will stay sunny, statewide, and temperatures will warm up. We will see breezes, daily, through Friday. Temperatures will warm up above average through Thursday. A weekend storm will bring cooler temperatures in eastern New Mexico, and rain chances for areas along and east of the Rio Grande Valley.
