ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of shooting at the homes of local politicians has pled not guilty to his federal charges. Solomon Peña was arraigned in federal court on Thursday and pled not guilty to conspiracy, solicitation to commit a violent crime, and numerous gun charges.
He’s accused of hiring two men to help him shoot at the homes of four politicians in late 2022 and early 2023 after a failed run for the New Mexico House of Representatives.
No one was hurt in the shootings. If convicted, Pena faces up to life in prison.
