Moby is getting back on the road for the first time in more than a decade, and he won’t be getting paid a cent: all profits are going to animal rights organisations.
The acclaimed musician and activist is heading to the UK and Europe this September for a short tour, performing his hits and celebrating the 25th anniversary of Play.
The tour begins on Thursday, 19 September, at London’s O2 Arena before heading to Antwerp’s Sportpaleis on Saturday, 21 September, Berlin’s Velodrome on Sunday, 22 September, Düsseldorf’s Mitsubishi Electric Hall on Monday, 23 September, and ends at Le Zenith in France on Tuesday, 24 September.
In case you’ve forgotten just how fun Play is, Moby’s fifth album – released in May 1999 – contains the unforgettable tunes Porcelain, Natural Blues, and Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? among others, and sold over 12 million copies worldwide. It peaked at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and Dance Chart and landed at #10 on the end-of-year ARIA Albums Chart in 2000.
Here’s what Moby had to say about his return to touring:
It’s been over ten years since I’ve toured, but someone reminded me that 2024 is the 25th anniversary of the release of ‘Play,’ so it seemed like it might not be the worst idea to do a short European tour to commemorate and celebrate.
The show will feature well-known songs from ‘Play,’ but also a bunch of audience favourites, like ‘Extreme Ways,’ ‘We Are All Made Of Stars,’ ‘When It’s Cold I’d Like to Die,’ and even some old rave bangers like ‘Feeling So Real’ and ‘Go.’ What makes the tour most exciting for me is that I won’t be paid anything. 100% of my profits will go to European animal rights organisations.
In addition to his return to touring, Moby has announced the release of his 22nd studio album, always centred at night.
The album will see the famous musician collaborate with some of his favourite vocalists. Soul singer Lady Blackbird stars on the first single, Dark Days. You can watch the music video below.

In an interview with The Music last year, Aussie DJ Luude discussed sampling Porcelain on his track Oh My, revealing that Porcelain is “one of those songs you’d never think you could even get the parts for.”
