Parapet Finishes 2.5 MW Photovoltaic Plant for Antibiotice Iași

Parapet, a construction company in the renewable sector, installed a 2.5 MW photovoltaic power plant for the Romanian pharmaceutical company Antibiotice Iași. The investment amounted to approximately RON 11.8 million (equivalent to over EUR 2.3 million), partially covered by National Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) funds.

The photovoltaic power plant will produce, on average, 3,500 MWh/year, reducing the carbon footprint by over 2,000 tons annually. The construction works were completed in November 2023, followed by compliance tests carried out by an ANRE authorized operator together with the electricity distribution company in the area. The power plant currently holds all the necessary certifications for safe electricity production.

We are glad to see more and more local companies, from various economic sectors, involved in streamlining electricity production and consumption and, equally, concerned about the sustainable development of their activity. We focus on everyone’s need and come up with customized, turnkey solutions to support the companies to meet their objective, namely to ensure as much as possible of their electricity needs from their own, renewable generation capacities. The photovoltaic plant installed for Antibiotice Iași is a reference project in this regard, we are glad to be part of the sustainability solutions adopted by the company“, said Andrada Moldovan, CEO Parapet.

The photovoltaic plant project involved the implementation of Parapet solutions for design, mechanical, electrical and management infrastructure. On an area of approximately 3.5 hectares, a system comprising 4,680 photovoltaic panels with monocrystalline technology was installed on a fixed structure.

Reducing the carbon footprint, given the EU’s perspective of reaching climate neutrality in the horizon of 2050, is a strategic concern for Antibiotice. We have built an energy efficiency strategy on our platform to ensure a certain degree of energy autonomy in industrial processes, and this investment is an important step in this direction. Out of the total annual energy consumed, we will provide over a quarter from renewable sources and this aspect will significantly contribute to the decarbonization process“, said Ioan Nani, General Manager of Antibiotice.
