ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man with an extensive criminal history of stealing vehicles will spend five years behind bars. Last year, police tracked a stolen car that fled from police that was driven by Derrick Montoya. He pled guilty to several charges including three cases of transferring a stolen vehicle, and two for aggravated fleeing law enforcement.
He faced 13.5 years for all the charges but pled down to a maximum of six years. Judge Joseph Montoya sentenced Derrick Montoya to five years in prison.
