ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The warm weather brought runners to Sandia Resort and Casino on Sunday, looking to help the Presbyterian Ear Institute.
The casino held the “Run to Break the Silence” with a 5K and 10K trail run as the main events.
Runners made their way through the Sandia Foothills starting at 8 a.m. Funds from the event support the Presbyterian Ear Institute’s School for Oral Deaf Education.
The event also had a kid-friendly and age-appropriate obstacle course for children 12 and younger.
All participating children got a kid’s t-shirt and goodie bag from the race’s sponsors.
According to the race’s website, more than $61,000 was raised this year.
