Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is rigorously working on his upcoming movie Spirit starring Prabhas. The director is widely talking about the movie and confirmed that he is currently writing it. Amid the ongoing discussions about the movie, the director spilled beans on its production and revealed that he making it on a bigger budget and scale.
Despite the mixed reviews, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s last three movies were blockbusters. Arjun Reddy, its Hindi adaptation Kabir Singh, and Ranbir Kapoor’s latest flick Animal, all three earned millions at the box office. Now, all eyes are on Spirit and how the upcoming movie will perform at the box office. The director recently gave a gist about it and confirmed that it would be bigger than his previous films.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga says Spirit will be bigger than Animal and Arjun Reddy
During an interview with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga talked about his plans for Spirit to great lengths. The director revealed that he has already completed 60 percent of the movie and it will go on floors by November or December. He added that the movie’s filming would go faster than his previous ones.
As the director was asked about the fans’ expectations of his movie, he said, “Frankly, I am not thinking about that. I never thought about it for Animal either. I worry about my writing and how I am going to execute it. That’s the most painful process. If you take pressure, you will end up doing what you have already done. That won’t work also.”
He later teased how Spirit will be a bigger movie. He said, “The pressure is a made-up thing. Yes, Spirit is going to be bigger than both Arjun Reddy and Animal. The producer is going to put Rs 300+ crore (over $36 million). That is there. I always look into how the producer is going to recover that money. I make sure the producer makes money and then makes another film.” Vanga added that he is sure Spirit will make about $18 million on its opening day.
